During the first week of this new study we are covering chapters 1 & 2, The Legacy of Prayer and The Power of Prayer. Both topics could be a study for weeks. The church has a long history of people praying and seeing powerful results. The book discusses a few of these people.

One such person is Hudson Taylor. He was a missionary to China in the 1800s. A brief bio on Taylor can be found here -

George Muller was another powerful Christian who began an orphanage in London which cared for over 10,000 orphans. Muller relied on prayer to provide for the needs of the orphanage. A brief bio on Muller can be found here - https://www.christianity.com/church/church-history/church-history-for-kids/george-mueller-orphanages-built-by-prayer-11634869.html. Another powerful Christian is Charles Hudson Spurgeon. He was a preacher in London in the 1800s.
At one time he preached to a church of 5,600 and was called the "Prince of Preachers." A brief bio on his life can be found here - https://www.christianitytoday.com/history/people/pastorsandpreachers/charles-spurgeon.html
